Beth Syverson, host of Unraveling Adoption podcast A safe space to delve into adoption’s complexities together, invited me to come share about Brainspotting in Adoption Therapy which of course was an easy yes. Her curiosity comes as an adoptive parent and someone who has experienced Brainspotting in her own journey to healing. Some of the things we talk about include:
- the importance of openness in adoption,
- the book It’s Not About You: Understanding Adoptee Search, Reunion, and Open Adoption,
- the importance of regulation and felt safety,
- working with both adoptive parents and adopted kids,
- eye position in Brainspotting, and
- in-person v. online Brainspotting
If you’re interested in trying Brainspotting, (and you live in Indiana, Kentucky, or Texas) you can try it with one of my associates
